Provider Readiness Gift: what it is and how to get started
Brothers can send voluntary hibah with serious interest; sisters enroll, add a Nigerian bank account, and receive gifts through Paystack. Here is how to set it up on web and mobile.
What is Provider Readiness Gift?
Provider Readiness Gift (PRG) lets brothers send a voluntary hibah (gift) when they are seriously interested in a sister’s profile. It is not mahr, not wages, and it does not create any obligation to match, chat, or marry.
Payment is handled securely through Paystack. At checkout, the amount is split: a 10% platform fee goes to Halal Matchmaking, and the remainder is routed to the sister’s Paystack subaccount. Paystack collection fees are deducted from the sister’s share. There is no accept/reject step after payment—once checkout completes, the gift is sent.
Sisters are solely responsible for any local tax on gifts they receive. Full legal terms are in our Terms of Service (section 4a).
Who can use it?
For sisters (recipients)
- Your profile should be set to female.
- Your profile location should be in Nigeria (this is where payout enrollment is supported today).
- You must enroll in the program, pass review when a fee applies, and add verified Nigerian bank details before brothers can send you a gift.
For brothers (senders)
- Your profile should be set to male.
- You can send from any country once the feature is enabled on your account.
- The sister must be enrolled, approved (when required), and have payout details on file.
- You can send up to 3 gifts per day, and only one gift per sister.
Sisters: how to enroll and receive hibah
If PRG is available for your account, you may see an “Enroll in Provider Readiness Gift” banner while you browse the app. You can also open enrollment anytime from Settings.
Step 1 — Open Provider Readiness Gift settings
On web:
- Go to Settings in the sidebar.
- Under Provider Readiness Gift, tap Provider Readiness Gift.
- Or open: halalmatchmaking.org/settings/provider-readiness-gift-payout
On mobile:
- Open Settings from the home tabs.
- Tap Provider Readiness Gift (“Bank details to receive hibah”).
Step 2 — Enroll in the program
- Read the enrollment rules and accept the terms.
- Pay the one-time enrollment fee via Paystack when it applies (commonly ₦1,000; admins may set this to ₦0 for free enrollment).
- If enrollment is free, tap Enroll free instead.
- When a fee was paid, your application is reviewed manually—usually within 1–2 business days.
Step 3 — Add your payout account
After approval, return to the same screen and tap Add payout account. Enter your Nigerian bank details. We verify the account name with Paystack before saving.
Once your account is saved, brothers will see the send option on your profile. Funds settle to your bank on Paystack’s normal schedule. The first payout may be held briefly while Paystack verifies the subaccount.
Step 4 — Track gifts you receive
- Settings → Gifts received (web) or Settings → Gifts received on mobile.
- New gifts may also appear under Liked You while you are browsing interest from brothers.
You can leave the program anytime from the same enrollment screen. Leaving stops new gifts; enrollment fees are non-refundable if you paid one.
Brothers: how to send a Provider Readiness Gift
Step 1 — Find a sister who is ready to receive
Open her profile from Feed, Matches, or Likes. If she is enrolled and has payout details on file, you will see Send Provider Readiness Gift on her profile.
Step 2 — Choose an amount and pay
- Minimum gift is typically ₦2,500 (amounts may be updated in admin settings).
- Quick amounts such as ₦5,000, ₦20,000, and ₦100,000 may be offered, or you can enter a custom amount above the minimum.
- Review the breakdown (platform fee, Paystack fees, sister’s net share) before continuing.
- Complete checkout in Paystack. On mobile, payment opens in the in-app Paystack WebView.
After successful payment, the gift is sent immediately. There is no refund to the brother after checkout.
Step 3 — View gifts you have sent
On web: Settings → Gifts I've sent
On mobile: Settings → Provider Readiness Gifts you sent
Good to know before you start
- Serious intent: PRG is for voluntary support alongside a marriage search—not a substitute for respectful conversation, family involvement, or clear communication about expectations.
- Privacy: Keep early contact inside Halal Match until you and your families are comfortable sharing personal details.
- Availability: PRG rolls out behind a feature flag. If you do not see enrollment or send buttons, the program may not be enabled for your account or region yet.
- Questions: See Help or contact support if eligibility messages are unclear.
Ready to try it?
Sisters: enroll and add your bank account so you are ready when a brother sends hibah with genuine interest. Brothers: when you find someone worth pursuing, a Provider Readiness Gift can show seriousness—while keeping the gift clearly voluntary and separate from mahr.
May Allah make your search easy and bless what is written for you, in shaa Allah.
